It was announced today that Dr. Bill Badger will be retiring at the end of the spring 2011 semester.
A little info about one my favorite mentors:
He received his PhD from Iowa State in Civil Engineering. From 1987 through 2004 he was the Director of the Del E. Webb School of Construction. During that time he transformed the construction program from a small regional program to one of national prominence. Prior to joining ASU Bill served a long and distinguished career in the US Army Corps of Engineers.
Dr. Badger was the “The Engineer” for the United States Military Academy from 1983-85, supervising the planning, engineering, construction, and maintenance of West Point.
As the Saint Paul District Engineer (1979-82), Colonel Badger was the contracting officer for the $40,000,000 Lock and Dam Number One restoration.
Prior to this he served Saudi Arabia, Vietnam and China in addition to several stateside tours.
Bill is a Registered Professional Engineer, State of Alabama.
His professional memberships include:
Member of the National Academy of Construction (2000-present)
Associated General Contractors of America Education and Research Foundation member
Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) National Board
CII’s International Research Team, the Education Committee, and the Academic Council
Member, White House Workshop to determine National Construction Goals
President of the Associated Schools of Construction (ASC) organization
American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Member
America Institute of Constructors (AIC)
... and he recently published his book on Construction Leadership.

Summer Internship Tuition and Fees
I received a recent inquiry about the cost of the one (1) credit internships, CON 296 or CON 484.
The best way to determine all fees is to go to the ASU Tuition and Fees Page:
http://students.asu.edu/tuitionandfees
On that page there is a calculator that determines the cost by college, academic year, in state/out of state status, etc. - http://students.asu.edu/costs
